FashionEarsta Reviews a Pair of Purple Hydrangea Floral Ears, Available on shopDisney
Epcot has has a bounty of new ears lately: from Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins-inspired ears at the UK Pavilion to embroidered beauties in Norway and Orange Bird festival ears, these things are popping up like spring crocuses! One of our new favorite pairs, a pair of purple hydrangea floral ears, isn’t particularly themed, though.
These are what I’d call a “just because” pair of ears that showed up on kiosks around Epcot for a few days before dropping on shopDisney. Nonetheless, they’re definitely following a trend that Etsy sellers have been setting for years: floral, wire ear headbands perfect for spring and summer.

And now shopDisney is getting into the game! We’ll be honest: it’s a bit of a crowded market, and these ears with a “crown” of purple flowers don’t particularly stand out in their theming. But the benefit of being manufactured by Disney is that you get professional-grade craftsmanship (usually).
These ears are currently out of stock on shopDisney, but you know how stock is at Disney right now… they could be back any day.

What We Loved
Unique Theme/Style
Good
These ears just sing “spring!” I do wish that there was something more to the theme than “flowers,” though – we’ve seen so many creative character-inspired pairs of floral ears on Etsy that these seem a bit generic.
Ear Shape/Size:
Good
One of the ears on this headband is not quite the same size and shape as the other. The ears themselves are wire, so you can bend them a bit, but you run the risk of accidentally making them much more misshapen if you mess around with them too much.
Stitching/Gluing:
Great!
I love that the ears have ribbon wrap to cover the stems on the leaves, and there is no visible hot glue.
Bow:
n/a
Of course there is no traditional bow on these ears, but the crown of flowers in the middle of the headband certainly makes a visual impact!
Shipping/Packaging
Great!
I was pleased that they came in a sturdy box instead of the dreaded blue mailer.

These ears are the new “standard” Disney price of $29.99 (not including shipping).

Who would love these?
FashionEarstas who love to wear sundresses and statement sunglasses. These ears are perfect for the warmer months ahead, and since they aren’t specifically themed they will go with tons of different outfits.

What Needs Work
Materials:
Ok
These ears feel like they’re made from dollar store fake flowers and leaves. That’s fine, but I have the feeling that the purple flowers will fade quickly in the sun.
Wearability:
Needs Improvement
The CVS receipt-length tag is so completely distracting and generally terrible.
Headband
Needs Improvement
Its a sad song but we’ll sing it again: the official Disney parks headbands are tight, slippery and now have an extremely long tag.
Where should future FashionEarstas be seen in these ears?
Definitely wear these ears around the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival! We think they match so many different topiaries, and even some of the drinks! Try twinning with a glass of Violet Lemonade for a classic DisneyBound look!

I love that Disney is trying a new style of ear headband – they’re just pretty far behind the amazingly creative Etsy sellers who have been perfecting the art of the floral ear headband for years! But these are a sturdy, well-made pair of ears that will go with plenty of outfits!
