Apple Picking Adventures at Sevens Farm! Snow White Ear Review

Fall is here! One of this FashionEarsta’s favorite fall activities is apple picking! It is such a fun thing for the entire family to do!  We try and do it every year, there is a beautiful farm where you can pick apples, and drink apple cider — they even make apple donuts (and we all know how this EarstaDiva feels about her donuts!). It is a really fun, sweet little farm but it has always had some mystery around it. It is rumored to be built on top of an old diamond mine that was closed when the miners started disappearing. Around Halloween Time the rumors that this farm is haunted get crazy out of hand. That doesn’t stop us from going every year though and picking the best apples ever!

This year when we arrived at Sevens Farm we noticed a new addition to their landscape, a HUGE corn maze! The best part was you had to collect clues throughout the maze and if you collected all of them you received a prize at the end. There were 4 clues all together and each one got you closer to the end. Easy enough, let’s go!

You entered the maze through this tiny little house, once we got through my family all took off in all of the different directions leaving me alone to find the clues on my own.  Off I went collecting clues, one was a small mirror, a heart shaped ring, followed by cinnamon scented broom, but as I turned the corner to find where I thought the last clue was I was startled by an older woman in black cloak.  She had a tray of bright red apples.  Her hood was up so I couldn’t see her entire face, so I warily approached her.

“Are these one of the clues?” I asked

She just pointed to the apples….I waited, thinking this seemed like an oddly familiar situation.

“Go ahead,” She whispered, “Take One…”

I reached out my hand and took one of the apples off the tray, just as I did, we heard my family coming up the path, I turned to see how close they were and when I turned back around, you guessed it….She was gone. The last clue was about six feet away, a sleeping mask!?

We all made our way back to the shop outside of the farm, everyone put their 4 clues on the counter and I put my 5 clues down.  The girl behind the counter gave each one a prize then got to mine. Confused she asked where had I gotten the apple. I then told her the story of the woman in the maze.  Her eyes were wide and her lips started to tremble as she called out…

“Mrs. White!  It happened again!” She ran to the back room as she was calling for Mrs. White, an older woman, appeared from the back room shaking her head and walking toward the counter. Giving me a head to toe look over she sighed.

“Well, I can see why it happened again. My dear, do you have any idea who you look like dressed like that?”

Befuddled I looked down at my outfit, it was one of my favorites a royal blue dressred sweater and red chucks…..Then it hit me! I was dressed like Snow White, and I was apple picking at Sevens Farm where there was a deserted & supposedly haunted mine!

Well, when the look of understanding crossed my face Mrs. White started laughing.

“I just couldn’t help myself!  You, dressed like that at my farm!? It was too good! It was me in the cloak my dear, I was just having a little fun with you!”

By now the girl at the counter had returned and had tears running down her face she was laughing so hard. I was dumbstruck and looked around to see that everyone had been in on the joke!  Being the good sport I am, I laughed along with them, and Mrs. White gave me the most beautiful prize. A pair of Snow White Ears from her friends at Earisistible! These were the perfect addition to my outfit and I was excited to see the roses!  My favorite! She also threw in a donut too which was a big bonus!

All in all we had a wonderful day picking apples and choosing our pumpkins. As we were walking back to the car I noticed Mrs. White handing out apples from her silver tray. She caught my eye and waved.

“See you soon dearie!”

So long Mrs. White, until next year!

It may not have been what we had hoped to do for Halloween this year, but together we were able to make it memorable and special.

What Needs Work

Turnaround Time:

Fair. These took a long time to get to us. I will say that during the pandemic we are certainly taking that into an account. The shop owner was lovely when I inquired about our ears and told us that she would happily send us a new pair if ours did not arrive within a day or 2.  Luckily they arrived!

Headband:

Fair. Even though the headband itself was comfortable it was the attachment of the roses to the headband was just taped. I would have liked to have seen a little finishing touch here.

Where should future FashionEarstas be seen in these ears?

These would be wonderful to wear to meet Snow White in Germany! Of course, you can wear them as you wait to board the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, just remember to take them off before you get on!
