Light up the Disney Parks when you wear these firework inspired ears!
Some of our favorite nighttime activities in Disney World are the fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We are looking forward to catching the new Harmonious show at Epcot when it premieres and watching the Happily Ever After nighttime extravaganza show when it returns to the Magic Kingdom. These ears will make the perfect accessory for those events. But until then, I will be touring the parks at night with some extra twinkle and some big time sparkle.
The great thing about these ears is that during the day they are beautifully crafted and full of bling, but at night they really shine and twinkle. You will stand out once you turn on the lights or the twinkles on these ears. Get ready for those compliments because we know they will be coming your way when you turn on these ears!
While we chose Mickey and Donald, these light up ears from The House of Hair Decor are available in several different character choices and colors. At present, there were over 58 different light up choices ranging from Toy Story to Rapunzel to Orange Bird. There is definitely a pair of light up ears for you.
These unique ears offer lighted settings to express yourself! Pressed once, the ears’ colored lights stay solid with no twinkling. Hit twice, the ears twinkle, then change colors in a fading pattern before repeating the sequence. Pressed a third time, the ears return to a solid glow. To turn off the lights completely, press the button 4 times.
As with any electronic, a battery powers the lights. It is located in the back of the bow and well hidden from sight as it is covered in yellow sequins. Two CR2032 lithium batteries are included with the purchase of the ears, but replacements are not provided so it’s important to make sure you use the light up feature only when you want to twinkle and light up the night.

Unique Theme/Style:
Great!
Upon first look, these ears are a classic pair of Disney ears with a striking black and yellow design palette. And then there is the hidden surprise of multi-color twinkling lights. These ears feature the Disney classic characters of Mickey and Donald so I think the yellow bow was a great color choice to connect those two characters together.
In her store, Dawn offers dozens of designs, so if Donald and Mickey are not your favorites, there are plenty to choose from that might be a better choice for you.
Ear Shape/Size:
Good.
These ears are designed for a child or an adult to wear. For a child, I think they would be a bit big but for an adult they fit well and are very comfortable to wear. The ear shape was very proportionate to the headband size.
Headband:
Great!
What’s not to love about a blinged-out headband? This headband features a ton of black sparkles! It is well constructed and features a blue ribbon inside to add a little bit of Donald’s color scheme to complement Mickey’s. The sequins added to the grip of the headband on the head to ensure a nice, comfortable fit.
Pricing:

These ears were priced at $42 including shipping on Etsy. That’s a great deal for the amount of sequins covering these ears in addition to the different options of lights.

Running my fingers across the sequins, none of them are lose. They are staying on perfectly on the headband, bows and ears. The ears also feature a beautiful black ribbon on the outside to seal in all those sparkles on the ears and add an elegant touch.

The ears arrived in just 5 days. They were in stock and ready to ship and I appreciate the seller shipping as quickly as she did. Given they are handcrafted, consider ordering ahead of time to make sure your favorite characters and color combinations are are available in the light up design.
Stitching/Gluing:
Good!
Shop owner Dawn created these ears beautifully. The sequins cover most every inch of these ears, including the battery in the back that makes the twinkling magic happen. My only suggestion would be a little more glue as there is one part that is starting to peel up.
Wearability
Great!
These ears are lightweight and wearing them around for an hour did not cause any discomfort or pain. In fact, I find that I keep going to get the ears and wear them around. They are super comfortable.
The sequins help grip my hair to stay in place better than other ears I have tried.
Bow
Great!
Yellow is one of my favorite colors and this bow is a great shade of yellow. It fits the Mickey and Donald theme well. It is a great size for these pair of ears.

The box was the perfect size for the ears. They were packaged inside the box in a yellow tissue paper which matched the yellow bow of the ears! A small piece of bubble packaging was placed in the middle of the box to protect the ears.
Dawn included a Mickey Mouse themed note card if you wanted to gift these ears.
She also included a business card for future orders as well.
My only suggestion would be to include instructions on how to turn on the ears and information on different settings. It took a few tries before we found the magic light up button. It would also be helpful to understand how long the battery will last and if it can be replaced in the future so we can plan when to turn on the twinkles.

I am a sparkle lover and these ears certainly delivered on the sparkle factor. With the added bonus of twinkle lights, these ears are unique and fun, especially for nights at the Parks. Good friends Mickey and Donald are classic favorites, but I would definitely pick up a second pair to switch back and forth between ears. She has several villain – hero combinations that look fun to try and bring out my dark side!
