Look (and smell) like everyone’s favorite Disney breakfast food with these Mickey Waffle Ears from shopDisney
In the morning, I’m making WAFFLES! Or, at least, I figured I’d be wearing them when I put on this pair of adorable Loungefly Mickey Waffle Ears. Everything tastes better when it’s Mickey-shaped, and EarstaDiva has been saying for years that calories don’t count when they’re from Mickey waffles!
So when Loungefly announced a collection of Disney accessories inspired by this breakfast treat, I was all in. This collection included the ear headband, spirit jerseys for both Disneyland and Disney World, a Loungefly mini-backpack (that is currently out of stock), and a card wallet!

What We Loved
Ear Shape/Size:
Good
The ears are perfectly shaped and proportioned well for an adult-sized head. The main downside for me is that these are the “uncrustables” style of ear, which means they are pinched at the edges. But some people like this style so whatever floats your boat!
Unique Theme/Style:
Good
These ears are very, very themed! From the pat of butter in the bow to the noxious smell of… something that is allegedly waffle-scented, every inch of these ears screams “Mickey Waffles.”
Stitching/Gluing:
Great!
There is no evidence of stitching or gluing on these ears.
Bow:
Great!
The bow is the best part of these ears! I like the waffle weave on the simulated leather, and the graphic pat of melting butter in the middle is just *chef’s kiss!*
Turnaround Time:
Great!
These ears took approximately one and a half weeks to arrive on my doorstep.
Shipping/Packaging
Good
These were some of the better-packed shopDisney ears that I’ve received. Not only were they packed in a box instead of a bag, but we also appreciated that the bow was protected by an additional sheet of card stock.
Pricing: $$$
At $39.99 (not including shipping), these ears were fairly priced for the quality of product.

What Needs Work

These ears are SMELLY! Yes, that is advertised as a feature of this collection, but I underestimated how much my pair would reek. I packed these ears in my suitcase and everything else in the suitcase came out smelling of artificial…something.
Wearability:
Needs Improvement
Because of the stench, I could only wear these ears for about 20 minutes before I got a terrible headache. Maybe I’m just sensitive, but I couldn’t even get a picture of these ears in the parks because they were making me nauseous. And I didn’t see a single other person wearing these ears the entire weekend, either!
Headband:
Needs Improvement
Yet another headband ruined by a “CVS receipt” style tag. This loooooong fabric tag is means that you’ll have to do some DIY if you want to wear these ears in public.
Many people use a rubber band to wrap the tag to the ears, but I find that looks silly. I personally used a seam-ripper to completely remove the tag and then hand-sewed the lining back together. Seems like a lot of work for a relatively expensive pair of ears!
Where should future FashionEarstas be seen in these ears?
Wear these ears to a big breakfast at Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort! This all-you-care-to-enjoy meal features unlimited Mickey Waffles and the chance to meet Mickey Mouse himself! Plus the scent of the delicious breakfast will mask the heavy scent coming off your ears so people won’t notice it.

These Mickey Waffle-themed ears are adorable, but ultimately unwearable for me. I was planning more outfits that incorporated them and even bought the Loungefly that matches them, but I haven’t been brave enough to open the plastic wrap on the bag to fill my home with the terrible smell.
