Ears Fit for a Royal Vizier: Jafar Ear Review

Salaam and good day to you! One can hardly imagine how ecstatic this FashionEarsta was to find that YOURS TRULY was on the short list for the position of Royal Vizier of Agrabah! You see, the Sultan is looking for a new advisor now that Jafar seems to be decidedly missing in action. I have given it much thought, and, like any other job interview, one must absolutely dress the part. So, I, all-knowing FashionEarsta that I am, immediately turned to the magical and imaginative ears at Sorcerer’s Stitches for the perfect powerful-proper-playful look. Obviously, I did not want to come in looking like the spitting image of the last guy – you know how sultans do not approve of capes and glowing snake-eyed staffs and the like. But I do think these magical, well-tailored ears with the red feather are just the right touch; conveying that perfect combination of “diamond in the rough” meets “phenomenal cosmic powers.”

Trying hard to do a better job than this guy!

Now please do not get me wrong: helping run kingdom affairs will require some global change (though I vow to do better than that guy with the always-hungry, obnoxiously squawking parrot)! I personally hope to bring a new, fantastic point of view to the kingdom.

I hope the Sultan notices the attention to detail on these ears… the gold braid, the hint of rubies, the quality of the materials. And please send any of your extra wishes my way that the ears are not too heavy and tip off my head during my visit – they certainly make me hold my head high, but I’m not sure they would stay on for an entire magic carpet ride!

So, fellow FashionEarstas, I hope you will keep your julienne fries crossed for me. I would love to have the honor of moving into the palace and bringing some charm to Agrabah. Plus, right now my apartment is such an itty bitty living space (if you catch my meaning). Please do wish me well if you happen to find a magic lamp laying around!

What We Loved

Materials:

Excellent. Feather, cotton and satin bow, wool ears with metallic gold cord and braid, red acrylic gems.

Headband:

Excellent. Thick band covered in black satin ribbon.

Ear Shape/Size:

Good. Very sturdy frame inside ears, but heavy due to the stuffing.

Bow:

Excellent. Glued to ears, so no fear of it slipping around or flopping in your face.

Unique Theme/Style:

Excellent. This is the most artistic pair of Jafar ears that this FashionEarsta has seen so far. To be clear, villains can be a little harder to find, so it is great to find a pair as nice as these.

Pricing: $$

Turnaround Time: Excellent (11 days during the pandemic!)

Who would love these?

Aladdin lovers, Royal Vizier hopefuls, and crazy parrot owners.

What Needs Work

Stitching/Gluing:

Very visible hot glue around the red stones and behind the bow.

Shipping/Packaging:  Sturdy box with some tissue around the ears, which were sealed in a gallon plastic bag. I was worried that the feather would be crushed, but it seems I lucked out and it is in good shape.

Wearability:
As previously mentioned, these ears are heavy and tend to “droop” forward.

Where should future FashionEarstas be seen in these ears?

Flying high over Adventureland on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin in the Magic Kingdom or meeting Princess Jasmine and Aladdin at the Agrabah Bazaar! You also can check out the meet-and-greets in Morocco at Epcot, which usually has a much shorter line since it tucked way in the back of that pavilion.

Overall Score: (4.8/5)

We love to hate them, but all of us secretly ADORE Disney Villains! Jafar surprisingly has some fashion sense, despite his overly expressive eyebrows and his hunger for power.

Get yourself a pair of Jafar ears here!

On that note, I have to prepare myself for a most important interview.

I hope that you found this review helpful! I’d love to hear what you think of this review, the Jafar earsSorcerer’s Stitches, or just other magical things you have to share in the comments! Make sure you check us out on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram, chances are you will see these ears in action!
