A Driveway Halloween Ball: Boo To You! Ear Review

This Halloween is shaping up to be like no other. SO many things have been cancelled, including my family’s trip to Disney for Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party. Needless to say, we are all feeling a little bummed. But this FashionEarsta is not one to be down for too long so I started to devise a plan to make this year’s unique Halloween celebration one to remember.

I decided that having a “Driveway Halloween Ball” was the way to go!  We sent a note out to our neighborhood explaining what we were doing and encouraged them to do the same.  Those who did not want to have a driveway ball were encouraged to walk around and see all the delights that their neighbors put together in their front yards! For our party we told the kiddos to use their imaginations and see what they could come up with. Some costumes were more toward the anime side, where others leaned toward DisneyBounding, and some were just plain ridiculous! All in all, the costumes were perfect!

The kiddos put individual mini caldrons of treats on the sidewalk for anyone that wanted to come by and observe – from a safe social distance of course. We built a huge fire in the fire pit and had flickering jack-o-lanterns all through our yard. I made fun food like mummy hot dogs, spider cheese balls and creepy tacos that were looking back at you! We blasted spooky music in the driveway and danced the night away. People walked by to see what craziness this EarstaDiva’s family was up to now (it is a common occurrence in our neighborhood) and they could not get over the spectacle!

After we were all danced and partied out (and more importantly when the noise ordnances kicked in) we all changed and went down to the fire pit. We ate S’mores, told our favorite Halloween stories, and reminisced about our favorite costumes and treats.  When the night was done and all of the haunts were safely home, we headed in for the night only to be met with screams… of delight! Our kiddos were finding their Halloween Bags, which normally would have been used for trick or treating but were now full of their favorite treats!  Everyone was so happy that it was hard for them to sleep, but they eventually they settled down.

The next morning, I went outside to make sure we had cleaned up all our party fun from the night before. On my doorstep was a package with my name on it. I opened it and found a beautiful pair of ears that said “Boo to You!” There was a little note explaining that the neighbors’ family trip to MNSSHP had been cancelled, too, and because they had these ears and knew I was an avid ear collector (and since we had helped the neighborhood find a way to safely celebrate), I should have these in our collection!  I placed the ears on my head and finished cleaning up from the night before.

It may not have been what we had hoped to do for Halloween this year, but together we were able to make it memorable and special.

Who would love these?

FashionEarstas who love Halloween!

What Needs Work

Wearability:

Ok. These are heavy and tended to slip forward a bit.

Headband:

Good. It’s nice quality, but may be what is causing them to slip.

Turnaround Time:

Took one month from the date ordered to my doorstep.

Bow:

Ok. The bow is a little floppy and isn’t quite equal on both sides which makes it lay little funny.

Where should future FashionEarstas be seen in these ears?

These would be perfect any day during the Halloween Celebration at Disney!
